Hurry Up and Wait
Sunday 11th August 2013

Bonjour!
I thought it might be nice to keep you informed with day-to-day activities that go on within the framework of Happy Thoughts Drama Company.

Currently, we are hard at work with preperation for 'Tale as Old as Time' auditions (only 5 weeks to go!). This involves finishing the script and starting to plan exactly what is going to go on within each rehearsal.
We've got the auditions planned, prepped and prepared - just waiting now! Still, there is plenty to be getting on with as the production process draws near. This is always my favourite part of the process, the unknown and preparation. Set-designs are underway in the top secret designer's notebook, as are costume designs in the top secret Wardrobe Mistress's book (there are an awful lot of secret happenings!)

We have got the first props for the production: 7 lovely tankards for the Tavern scenes, courtesy of Cockermouth Car Boot Sale (hey, we're dreaming on a budget here!)

Everybody Knows The End, When The Curtain Hits The Floor...

Finding the Centre of the Labyrinth
Sunday 16th June 2013

Last night saw the culmination of 6 months of rehearsals for Labyrinth. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better cast or a better crew. You guys made this happen, and I hope that in you helping to achieve my dreams of Directing, I'm helping to achieve you dreams too.
That is what Happy Thoughts Drama Company is all about - as the great James Matthew Barrie said, ''So come with me where dreams are born and time is never planned..."
I realise 'Labyrinth' was an obscure choice of play, but for those involved I hope you have enjoyed it and taken things from it that will help you in the future. Even if there is only one little bit you can take away, it means I have done a good job.
Thank you all so much for being part of making this possible. I have enjoyed every second of our company in rehearsals and yesterday. You were all brilliant and fantastic and I would recommend each and every one of you to talent scouts without a second thought. You've all become like a family and I hope you all know that.
I am so proud of all of you.
Keep dreaming,
See you in September!
